Over the Mountain Hike is a free 5-mile trek from Simsbury to Bloomfield showcasing conserved properties and trail connectivity through Penwood State Park.
The hike starts at Tanager Hill Preserve and ends at Oliver Filley House in LaSalette Park, Bloomfield, where participants will be bused to the start.
The route includes Lake Louise, the Pinnacle viewpoint, Stout Family Field, Hawk Hill Farm, and LaSalette Park.
Some terrain is steep and challenging.
Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, snacks, and hiking poles if desired.
Registration is required due to limited bus space.
