Explore forest stewardship in action at the Bent of the River Sanctuary with the Connecticut Land Conservation Council and Audubon Connecticut. This walk-and-talk event highlights how state and local partnerships use climate-smart funding to manage and protect a 1200-acre nature preserve in Southbury. Attendees will learn about a 10-year forest management plan and see targeted areas where conservation efforts are underway to enhance forest health and carbon storage. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes to enjoy the sanctuary trails during this in-person event.
